IT Technical Specialist

As our IT Technical Specialist, you will help design technical solutions and proposals as part of our bid function. This role will be instrumental in attracting new clients and innovating the solutions we offer.

What you'll be doing:

  • Take full control and responsibility to produce technical responses in line with bid process. 
  • Consistent activity and responsibility to raise the standard and quality of bids to increase bid win ratio. 
  • Improves proposal writing results by evaluating and re-designing boilerplates. 
  • Assisting with development of bespoke proposals, best practice information, technique guides. 
  • Liaise with a diverse group of stakeholders to determine final tender response recommendations and solutions for each proposal submission. 
  • Assist the Bid and Proposal Managers in tender strategy, co-ordination, and delivery of tenders through technical input.  
  • Preparing and reviewing client requirements and ensuring that the proposed solution conforms to the clients needs and expectations and can be delivered within budget. 
  • Outlining assumptions and risks with the proposed solution. 
  • Supporting in handover documents from bid designs through to the implementation and support teams. 
  • Reviewing the commercial aspects of the bid, supporting in the development of win strategy, and coordinating the developing of winning technical solutions through collaboration on price-to-win. 
  • Forming winning storyboards and supporting documentation through inputs from key internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Understand and resolve complex technical, strategic, and business issues and resolve issues identified through colour team reviews to ensure bids are submitted in winning form at every stage. 
  • Accountable for technical inputs within Bids and proposals, ensuring that bill of material and scope of works is accurate and achievable. 
  • Assist in the learning and development of bid writers and other bid managers.
  • Identifying new ways to improve the current bid process and future submissions and heavy involvement in feedback sessions and White Glove review. 

What you need to succeed:

  • Minimum of 2nd Line Support or similar experience
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in English 
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage complex tenders, precise scheduling and multiple and shifting priorities 
  • Demonstrable experience within Microsoft Azure and/or AWS  
  • Resilient and deadline orientated 
  • High levels of drive and passion 
  • Hard worker striving to always achieves the outcomes 
  • Excellent project management skills with strong focus on attention to detail 
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to influence at a senior level 
  • Confident, ambitious and energetic with a persuasive manner and the ability to use your initiative 
  • Capability to learn, develop and maintain technical knowledge 
  • Knowledge of the MSP industry 
  • Technical writing and Presales mindset 
  • Understanding of Cloud, Cyber Security, Networking, BCDR
